Updates!

So for the past few days i know I have been MIA and you can totally blame that on Vega! But there is good news! We did sooo well this weekend! The Market On Main was pumping and we sold out basically! It was fabulous! So I will definitely be putting up pictures soon of this past weekends Eye Candy!

Celeb Hot Spot- MoM

Market On Main has become the new hot spot for our local celebrities to hang out! This weekend Dan had a photo taken with Waylon Murray from the lions.. Dan really isnt that little in real life.... Waylon is just HUGE!

Other celebrities that i know of that have also visited MoM are Johnny Clegg and Hlubi Mboya who plays the role of Nandipha on Isidingo.

So maybe u will get lucky at Market On Main and catch a celebrity!

So it has been decided that our salmon bagel stall this sunday will be offering delicious mouth-watering cinnamon buns at only R10 and if you buy a salmon bagel you get a cinnamon bun for R6! Mothers Day!

So its mothers day this sunday and there are probably many mothers day specials happening at Market On Main this sunday! what should our salmon stall do?? We have an option of a professional photographer to come take photographs of mothers and their children... or we could do yummy cinnamon buns that you can have with your coffee... hmmmm or we could make a special bagel just for mothers day!

A Bagel Of Fun

Todays Market On Main was more quiet than usual, probably because most of JHB was away over this long weekend. As things were getting pretty slow in the beginning there was a woosh! of hungry customers who were loving our new toasty warm bagels! Toni also added an extra ingredient today for those who wanted to spice things up a bit - Horseradish cream.

The morning was chaotic. From a business perspective, there was a miscommunication - actually no communication- between Toni and I. then to make matters worse, Toni, overslept! Of all days that Toni decides to sleep in! She is meant to be the early riser!....But we did it! By the end of the market we sold out!

Hopefully we will have some eye candy of this weekends Market On Main, but there werent as many photographers there today!

I would also like to mention our friendly next door neighbour stall - Eat Your Heart Out- for two of the most amazing cakelets. Beetroot and date akelets topped with lemon drizzle, it really tastes better than it sounds! and carrot cakelet with the most delicious cream cheese icing!!! out of this world! I've eaten soo much of it that my tummy is in a spasm! So go check their FB page out!

Clean up!

2 weeks ago on our way to the market to set up Daniel and I saw the streets in town covered in rubbish and litter. this is because Pikitup is on a strike and its such a pity because town is actually a cool place and there are art structures and monuments that are beautiful. Market On Main and Arts on Main support town and is an upper class venue in town so that others that hardly go into town can see that town is actually not as bad as they think. Unfortunetly the strike has left town and the whole of Jozi in a mess. Its not a very good welcoming site for visitors when they drive down to the market. Lets hope it clears up quick...

Salmon Bagel Withdrawals!

So hope everyone has had an amazing Peasach and Easter! We are still preparing for this sundays salmon stall! Now that winter has kicked in we are going to start toasting our bagels so everyone can enjoy our hot toasty bagels with salmon and cream cheese! mmmm....

Its a public holiday on monday so the market should be packed!! so save all your pigging out for this sunday!! its going to be delicious! will keep you notified during the week! :)

Salmon Sunday Update!

So today didnt go very well at all!! probably because of a few reasons like the cold weather, the very expensive salmon, the generous amounts of expensive salmon that we put on the bagels... so we hardly broke even! Next weekend unfortunately the market on main is closed! but during the week i'll be working on a few things to make the following sunday bagels even more delicious and worth it!

Probably going to start toasting and warming up the bagels for winter, get a real name, new signs, the works! if any one has a few suggestions, lay it on me!

Busy Busy Bagels!!

So its that time of the week again!! We are preparing for our Salmon Bagels! We have got the Chilean Salmon ready, the cheese is as creamy as ever and our bagels are going to be made fresh out the oven early sunday moring! This weekends market is going to be delicious!! We just hoping for some warm weather!


Toni is getting back from her Honeymoon so she will be gracing us with her presence on Sunday! So hopefully she will be selling our aprons! They havnt been selling as we had hoped!

New Salmon Products!

The past few Sundays have really been successful and Arts on Main market is getting busier each weekend!! there are soo many awesome stalls to visit wether you want hot tacos or local designer clothes or even dog biscuits! they have it all!

We have also added on a new product! they are divine aprons from Cape Town. with beautiful designs and sizes! they actually look like dresses and not aprons! we'll get some eye candy of those up soon! they also fold up into bags! ladys are going crazy for them :)

Our salmon for today was Chilean salmon, the pinkest tastiest and expensive salmon! but sooo worth it! here is some eye candy from the past few weekends:

Arts On Main

Toni Kagan, my sister, took the initiative on creating her own stall at a new market on Arts On Main in Johannesburg. She decided to sell delicious, creamy, tasty, decadent Salmon Bagels. She just had to get me involved so now its a partnership! We have been selling Salmon Bagels for about 5 weeks now and making a profit - not much but its worth it. 


Its a unique experience buying a Salmon Bagel at our Salmon Bagel stall, our customers become highly involved in their order and the whole process. Lets elaborate: 


Firstly, we have a variety of fresh boiled bagels to choose from. Whether you favour classic plain bagel, a daring and delicious onion bagel, a scrumptious olive bagel or for you health freaks health, whole-wheat and rye bagels.. mmmmm....
My best part of the Sunday is picking up the fresh hot bagels and the aroma wafts in my car!


Once you have chosen your bagel, you have a choice of fillings. Would you pick the creamy thick egg mayo, rocket and onion.... or treat yourself to thick cream cheese, Norwegian, Chillian, or Canadian Salmon, red onions, Green rocket and just to top it off some salty capers! 


We also customize these bagels to suite your needs! Not an onion fan, NO onions! Hate capers, what capers? more cream cheese and less rocket - you got it!
